Emperor Karl II

I applaud Archduke Karl's defense of his family and his grandfather, but respectfully disagree if HI&RH thinks the present European Union has anything in common with his family's great Empire. The republics occupying the lands ruled by his ancestors are abominations, and he is their legitimate Sovereign, even if he will not say so himself. (The Guardian's headline is misleading: Archduke Karl is not a descendant of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.)

Couldn't agree more.

Now, if the Archduke were elected president of the EU, and a crisis caused them to vote to expand his powers, whereby he renamed the EU as the Holy Roman Empire... I wouldn't complain.
